I enjoy using the chakras to focus and develop themes while avoiding any Orientalistism or mysticism. Mama Earth Massage blends science and art. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Erikson’s 8 Stages of Development, and many more all roughly correspond to the 7 Chakra system. The idea is the same. Chakras are a cool aesthetic to improve goal achievement.
Whether we relate the chakras to their actual Hindu meaning, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Freud’s Stages, and even Erikson’s Developmental Stages, the theories all support each other: The Chakras can help you focus your self-care.
